The Education Fund
The Education Fund was originally set up in 1971 following a legacy of $200.00 left to AOHNA by a deceased member. The founders, Lorna Howe and Leila Robertson and later Lesleigh Jones, all OHN's, strived tirelessly to increase this fund to enable other OHNs to have the opportunity to apply for monies to enable their continued professional development and education. Initial fund-raising efforts included raffles, trading tables, wine tastings and fashion parades.
The fund has been wisely invested over many years and has consolidated to enable grantsof assistance to be made to financial members of the Auckland Group. Conditions apply under which agrant is made to an applicant, and each application is assessed on an individual basis by the appointed advisory committee.
